New Student Orientation - First-Year Students

Join us for the University of Washington Tacoma annual Winter Husky Orientation! This event is designed to help you transition smoothly into university life and make the most of your time here.

Don't miss this opportunity to start your UW Tacoma experience on the right foot. We look forward to welcoming you to the Husky family!

What to Expect:

• Check-In: Begin your day with check-in at 9:00 am at Cherry Parkes (CP).
• Orientation Sessions: Kick off your UW Tacoma journey by connecting with fellow students and Pack Advisors, and participating in our special Challenge Coin tradition.
• Resource Fair & Lunch: Explore our beautiful campus, meet university staff, and discover the many resources available to support your success. Enjoy a complimentary lunch—and don’t forget to pick up your Husky ID! You’ll also have a chance to win exciting prizes like UW Tacoma swag and gift cards!

Preparation:

• Complete the online orientation prior to attending.
• Submit your photo to the Husky ID portal before the event.

Family Orientation:

A concurrent Family Orientation will be available, so feel free to bring your family to celebrate the beginning of your university journey!

Please note: The student orientation is exclusively for incoming UW Tacoma students. Family members and friends are welcome to join the separate family orientation.
